Terms of Service
The rules for using Crearea — please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Crearea mobile application or website ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Crearea (the "Company"), operating under the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
2. The Service
Crearea is an AI powered educational platform that provides study tools including note taking, AI tutoring, flashcards, quizzes, a study library, and collaborative study rooms. The Service is designed exclusively for educational purposes — specifically to support Ghanaian students preparing for BECE, WASSCE, and university level studies.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
3. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 12 years of age to use Crearea. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian awareness of their use of the platform. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet the minimum age requirement.
Crearea is available to students in Ghana and may be used internationally by Ghanaian students studying abroad.
4. Accounts and registration
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must:
- Provide accurate and truthful registration information
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
- Not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or credit limits
One account per person. Creating duplicate accounts to gain additional free credits is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.
5. Credit system
Crearea uses a credit based system to regulate AI usage:
- Free tier: 100 credits per month, capped at 10 per day
- Premium tier: 500 credits per month, capped at 30 per day
- Max tier: 1,200 credits per month, capped at 60 per day
Credits are deducted on the server after a successful AI response. Credits are non-transferable, non-refundable, and expire at the end of each monthly period. Unused credits do not roll over. Daily caps reset at midnight GMT+0.
Cache hits (identical or near identical queries) may return responses at 0 credit cost. We reserve the right to adjust credit costs with 30 days' notice.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in Ghana Cedis (GHS) through Paystack. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges at the selected interval (monthly or annual) until you cancel.
- Premium Monthly: GHS 70/month
- Max Monthly: GHS 120/month
- Premium Annual: GHS 700/year
- Max Annual: GHS 1,200/year
You may cancel your subscription at any time from within the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access and credits until then. We do not offer partial month refunds. Annual plans cancelled within 7 days of the first purchase are eligible for a full refund; after 7 days, no refunds are issued.
A 3-day grace period applies after subscription expiry before your account is downgraded to Free tier.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use Crearea only for lawful educational purposes. You must not:
- Use Crearea to write essays, assignments, or exam answers for submission as your own work in violation of your institution's academic integrity policy
- Attempt to extract, reproduce, or redistribute our AI models, prompts, or system architecture
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
- Attempt to circumvent credit limits, daily caps, or subscription checks
- Upload illegal, harmful, or copyrighted material without authorisation
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users in study rooms or any shared feature
- Use the Service to generate content that promotes violence, discrimination, or illegal activity
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the source code of the Service
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
8. AI disclaimer
Crearea's AI features are designed to support learning — not to replace independent thinking, tutors, or teachers. Our AI:
- Is designed to guide, not to do your work for you
- May occasionally produce incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information
- Should not be relied upon as the sole source of information for high stakes decisions
- Is calibrated to Ghana's curriculum but may not reflect the very latest syllabus changes
Always verify important information with your teachers, textbooks, or official Ghana Education Service materials. We are not responsible for errors in AI generated content or for academic consequences arising from its use.
9. Intellectual property
Your content: Notes, files, and other content you create in Crearea remain your intellectual property. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process your content solely to provide the Service.
Our content: The Crearea brand, app design, codebase, AI system, and all platform content (excluding user generated content) are owned by Crearea and protected by Ghanaian and international intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice in cases of serious violations. We will provide reasonable notice for other terminations. No refunds will be issued for accounts terminated due to Terms violations.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Crearea shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of income, or academic consequences arising from use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error free operation of the Service.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
Before initiating any legal action, you agree to first contact us at legal@crearea.app to seek an amicable resolution.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in app notification with at least 14 days' notice before changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
